Tolerance vital to development- President Ncube

President Welshman Ncube
Political leaders should take a leaf from church and other civil leaders and understand that it is possible to have different views on an issue but continue to leave in peace, MDC President Welsham Ncube has said.

Addressing a joint gathering of the National Councils of MDC and MDCT and the ZANU PF Central Committee in Harare on Friday President Ncube bemoaned the up sage of political motivated violence in the country and encouraged party leaders to convince their supporters on the need to end violence.

"I have no doubt in my mind that our call for the end of violence as leaders is sincere. However the challenge that we have is to convince our structures to follow suit. WE need to deal with the rank and file that may not believe in our sincerity." , President Ncube said.

The gathering was also addressed by the Presidents of MDCT and ZANU (PF) Morgan Tsvangirai and Robert Mugabe respectively.

Meanwhile, the troubled group led by former MDC Chairman Joubert Mudzumwe made a joke of itself when they made an attempt to smuggle themselves into the meeting without accreditation.

The 15 member group and been smuggled into the venue by members of the Central Intelligence Organization using an entrance to which only the CIO had keys. Delegates from the three parties in government used the conventional entrance to the Harare International Conference Centre.

An emergency MDC National Council meeting was called and made a resolution that the tripartite meeting will not continue in the presence of "strangers in the room". The group was then moved out by police details in the area.

As if that was not enough, rebellious MP for Umzingwane Nomalanga Mzilikazi Khumalo later came and demanded that she be allowed into the venue in her capacity as Deputy Speaker of Parliament. She was also sent away as her name did not appear in any list of the three National Councils.
